I recently bought Divi to start using for web design. I have been using YouTube tutorials to learn Divi 5. So far it is going well. I recently learned to create a blog post layout thanks to YouTuber. Here are some things that I learned as a newbie to Divi 5 and Divi in general.
- Once you save the layout, you do not need to go to Edit with Divi to write your post. I was getting tripped up on this. After using Divi’s chat support (I think it was AI), I finally figured this out. At first, I was very confused that the format was off. Turns out, I just needed to start typing for my post instead of pressing “Edit in Divi.”
- You can save your layout on the cloud to use the layout for other sites.
- Sometimes there can be a delay between saving the layout and the layout reaching the cloud. If this happens you can go to Permalinks on your WordPress dashboard and just hit Save (no changes needed). If that doesn’t work, there may be a delay with your server on your end. Mine was delaying for some reason. But the layout did eventually show up in the cloud.
So far, I like Divi 5. I am glad that I am learning Divi now that they have released Divi 5, so I didn’t have to worry about the differences between Divi 4 and Divi 5. I was not originally a fan of block editors, but this one is going smoother than I thought it would. I think this is going to be one of my go-to tools for web design. I may re-do this blog with Divi 5. I have not decided yet. But I will definitely be documenting my experience with the program. So far, Divi 5 is absolutely meeting my expectations. I can’t wait to see how much more I can do with the program.
