Have you ever found something in the store that you couldn’t walk away from?  Well, that was me in Target. This beautiful planner caught my eye. It was just my style. It was a black-and-white cover, and it was a daily planner.

Past Experience with Planners

Now I have never used a daily planner.  I typically use weekly planners that are either vertical or dashboard style.  I have never used a planner where each page was its own day.  Nor have I used one with an hourly format.  However, I believe I may never go back to dashboard planners because I love the hourly format.

What I Love about this Planner

Since I already bought and customized my planner for the 2026-2027 year, I felt like I needed to use it. And in reality, it’s not a bad planner.  I just never quite connected to it. It was just missing something that I could not put my finger on.

However, my experience with this new planner was different. I liked it right away.  I connected to it instantly.

Aesthetic

Let me tell you what I love about this planner so far.  I like the overall style. The black and white strips are very chic.  It just oozes sophistication.

The cover design fits my personality.  It’s sophisticated, elegant, professional-looking, and preppy, which is my style.  If a planner can have a personality, then this one has a posh and preppy personality.  It looks beautiful sitting on my desk, and I enjoy writing in it. The inside pages have a professional and elegant look too.

I like that I was able to buy it locally, so I had a chance to look through the planner before buying it. It feels like a quality planner, and it was less than $25. The paper feels good, and it pairs well with the new gel pens I just bought.

Since the planner is thick, I will let it sit on my desk instead of carrying it around with me.

Format

The hourly format is very helpful.  It gives me a clear display of how I am using my time, and where I still have time available.  It’s like having my Apple Calendar in a paper format. My preferred way of planning my day is time blocking. With this planner, I can time block with ease.  I don’t think I will ever go back to not having an hourly planner.  This format is just too efficient for my paper planning needs.

Current Thoughts

So far, I am enjoying this planner.  I was not sure if a daily planner would work out, but so far it is.  I give the hourly format the biggest credit for that.  However, it has only been about a month since I started using it. Only time will tell if I stick with this planner.
